New York – It was not all doom and gloom in Manhattan this week, certainly not at chez Nicole Miller, whose latest collection is firmly targeted at women
determined to have a little fun.
Out of some 65 shows in this season?s New York Fashion Week, there was a racy feel throughout this fall 2009 collection staged in Bryant Park on Friday, Feb. 13.
She employed a palette of black, cobalt blue and a faded silver achieved my using beading, and cut her dresses wickedly up the thigh, creating a collection that seemed a smart response to the current economic blues.
Miller is an impressive cutter, which showed in the simplest of looks; a slightly rouched anthracite agora mini dress with just the right mix of downtown cool and sassy panache. Her use of unevenly angled pleats, origami style folds and architectural flourishes was done with great aplomb.
